The Hypermedia Development Environment (HDE) operates on UNIXworkstations in standalone or networked mode. Any digitally capturedmedia type can be retrieved, displayed, and linked to other data throughthe HDE.To navigate through the various types of media, "hotspots" on theworkstation screen to indicate that there is a "link" from the currentnode (the self-contained piece of data presently activated on theworkstation, such as a page of text, a photograph, a sound segment) toanother associated node of interest (it, too, being of any media type).This process creates user-defined, dynamic collections of associated dataor information systems able to keep pace with a company's growth.
